Scott C. Berta, MD, FAANS is a Stanford-trained, Board-certified Neurosurgeon who has an expertise in minimally invasive spine and neuromodulation as it relates to the field of Pain Management. He has held faculty positions at Stanford as well as UCSF.
Dr. Berta completed his neurosurgery residency as well as his spine fellowship at Stanford University Hospital and he holds master’s degrees from the Ivy League schools of Princeton and the University of Pennsylvania. He served as a Lieutenant in the United States Naval Reserve and has published an award winning neurosurgical textbook entitled Neurosurgery: Tricks of the Trade.
Early in his career, Dr. Berta was featured on USA Today and CNN for surgery he performed on a famous jockey who was paralyzed in a tragic horse-racing accident and was then able to walk again after the spine procedure.
